baking process in PCB manufacturing. Before drilling, lamination, soldermask, silkprint and vacuum packing, PCBs will be baked by Linked Electronics.

The reason is quite simple, baking circuit board is just to eliminate outgassing of moisture inside the FR4 material, which will also improve the twist and warp and prevent cold solder joint.

PCBs has a shelf life, generally 6 months for HASL Lead free and ENIG boards, and 3 months for OSP.

1 .After 2 months and the package is opened for more than 5 days, please bake 1 hour at the temperature 120 ±5℃ before use.

2 .After 2 months please bake the boards 1 hour at the temperature 120 ±5℃ before use.

3. After 2~6 months please bake the boards 2 hour at the temperature 120 ±5℃ before use.

4. After 6~12 months please bake the boards 4 hour at the temperature 120 ±5℃ before use.

5. Please use the PCBs after baking in 5 days or bake for 1 hour before use.

6. If the PCB is more than 1 year after manufacturing, please bake 4 hour at the temperature 120 ±5℃ and send the PCB boards back to PCB factory for rework on the surface treatment before use.

Attention: If PCBs are baked for a long time, the PCB color will change.
